This morning I went birding in woodlands. After that, I went to see shorebirds near my hometown. Today was very good day because I could see Sharp-tailed Sandpiper. I observed this species around 5 times in my life, so it is difficult to write about the tendency of ethology in this species. Write about this individual only, the move of head was slower than other species and using frequently picking foraging. And using small foraging area. Many shorebirds use "Capillary action" in foraging and we can see the act of water in pic 1. Do move the head hard make them to forage easier? It is not easy to find the accurate answer to this question. Pic 4, we can see Broad-billed Sandpiper over Sharp-tailed. I observed Temminck's Stint, Wood Sandpiper, Long-toed Stint, Green Sandpiper and Common Snipe at the same place.
Every time Fighter aircrafts flow on me, shorebirds also saw the aircrafts. This pic is three shorebirds saw aircrafts. Bull-headed shrike also did as same as that. Anyway, Do you know that avian has 2 type eyes ; Myopia and Hyperopia. It is decided by amount of sunlight when avian in the egg. Today I found the pattern of the eyes are not fixed. I wonder that right eye is used for near and left eye is for far. But maybe able to return. Shorebirds in this pic is very cute. So today I enjoyed my birding.
